Billionaire to Create History Theme Park in Russia

<![CDATA[Russian billionaire Konstantin Malofeyev has recently agreed to build the first history theme park in Russia. He signed an agreement for a total of $510 million (18 billion rubles) with a French theme park company for the construction of the amusement park. Konstantin Malofeyev was born in Pushchino in the year 1974. He graduated from the Law School at the Moscow State University in the year 1996 and worked as a lawyer for Renaissance Capital between the years 1996 – 98. He moved on to Regent European Securities and CentreInvest between the years 1998 – 2000, before becoming head of the investment department of the Interros Holding Company in the year 2001. In the year 2005, Konstantin Malofeyev established Marshall Capital Partners and by the year 2008, he was estimated to have a personal fortune of as much as 230 million dollars. According to Konstantin Malofeyev, the main aim is to create a place where Russians can immerse themselves into the rich history and culture of Russia for hours at a stretch. He stated that the idea is not to concentrate on the entertainment aspects of the park, but to concentrate on the historical portrayal and quality. The project comes across as an unprecedented move in the Russian tourism market and it is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world once it is complete. Konstantin Malofeyev partnered with Puy du Fou International, the company that was in charge of bringing the Puy du Fou Theme Park to life in the Vendee region of France. This theme park already attracts more than 1.5 million visitors each year and is considered to one of the most popular theme parks in the world. According to Nicholas de Villiers, the president of Puy du Fou International, the company was more than prepared to co-invest and manage the theme park project in Russia and ensure that it managed to exceed all expectations that surround it. Phillippe de Villiers, a French politician and the founder of Puy du Fou, believes that Russia needs the support of major tourism projects in order to develop its economy further. He believes that the rich history of the country is a major plus as all the country needs to do is to cash in on its history in order to attract tourists from all over the world. The plans to construct this history theme park in tandem with Russian billionaire Konstantin Malofeyev were confirmed by the Puy du Fou’s investment department in the Moscow Region as well. Although Konstantin Malofeyev did not specify the location where this history theme park would be constructed, he did mention that the park would require about 300 hectares of land close to the Hotel Tsargrad, a hotel cum entertainment complex that is already owned by the Russian billionaire in the Moscow region.
