Joanna Hoyt Articles 14

Joanna is fascinated (and often dismayed) by history and its recurring patterns. She is especially interested in social attitudes toward immigration, economic distribution, and the interplay of religion and politics. She is the author of the 2017 book "A Wary Welcome: The History of US Attitudes toward Immigration" published by Skinny Bottle Press. More of her books, articles and stories can be seen at Joanna, an autodidact, learned history largely by reading primary sources from diverse sources--a practice which helps her try to pick her way through the labyrinth of today's conflicting news coverage. She works as a farmer, community volunteer and freelance writer in upstate New York (six hours and a world away from the city.)
