So sad,, but I love reading up on any history,I have bought so many books on these types of stories. The coal town stories are the best.
I read a book long ago titled, “Bitter Melon,” where the author goes to a small town near the southeast Bay Area and interviews the remaining Chinese elders about this same time period and beyond. What their stories tell is an astounding testiment to survival and resiliency in the face of horrific racism and acts extermination. The truth about the U.S. and State policies of racism and extermination is essential to examine if people are to rise above land grabs and dirty development before we all go extinct. The same reasons then are the same reasons now…land and dirty development = global warming + extinction
