    Is this finding prehistoric or “the latter seventh century and early eighth century”? I don’t see that that period can be considered prehistoric.

      The site contains finds that are Anglo-Saxon, ie. the burials. However it also contains other, older artifacts, which are suggested to be the reason this site was chosen as a burial ground by the Anglo-Saxons.

    In other words, the 7-8th century finds are Anglo-Saxon, while the other material; e.g., the, ‘oval flint blade” go back to the Neolithic.
