I am glad you liked this article! It was fun to write–but I don’t want to take all the credit for these ideas. The work of Dean Hammer (“The Iliad as Politics”), Elton Barker (“Entering the Agon”), and David Elmer (“The Poetics of Consent”) made it possible.
And there’s still good work to be done on the Odyssey!
